Treatment for Warts

Posted by Unknown at 01:11 0 comments

If you see solid blisters or small, rough bumps on your skin, you should start worrying. These might be warts!

Warts are embarrassing. They commonly appear on the neck, hands, face, and fingers, but can appear in any area of the body. They are usually brownish, pink, or light yellow in color, resembling cauliflowers. They vary in sizes and shapes.

They are caused by a type of HPV or human papillomavirus, which causes excess amount of keratin. This results in fast cell growth on the outer layer of the skin. They are usually painless, but can be painful in some areas if applied with pressure.

Warts are contagious. The virus can enter the body through a broken skin. Do not share razors, socks, nail files, or towels with a person infected by warts, to prevent the virus from infecting your skin. Most warts disappear without treatment for about months or years, but this doesn’t mean you ignore them especially those causing pain and are spreading. You may seek help of a medical professional, or you may use some home treatments, depending on the type and condition of your warts.

  • Salicylic acid is known to be an effective, inexpensive, and painless way to treat warts. It softens the layer of the skin affected by warts. After applying the acid, rubbing the affected skin with file, pumice stone or emery paper can help remove the warts faster. Keep in mind that salicylic should not be used if you have peripheral arterial disease, diabetes, or any other circulatory problems. If you’re not sure if the skin growth is a wart, don’t try using this treatment.
  • Freezing or cryotherapy is a procedure where liquid nitrogen is sprayed to freeze a wart. It helps kill the cells of the warts, resulting in falling off of dead tissue after a few weeks. This is a fast way to treat some warts.
  • If all remedies didn’t work for you, it’s better to see a doctor for a minor surgery, such as laser surgery, electrosurgery, or curettage.

To prevent growth of warts, make sure that you wash your hands regularly, cover your warts with bandage, don’t pick them, and keep your hands and feet dry as much as possible.

Effective Treatments to Remove Blackheads

Posted by Unknown at 01:05 0 comments

Blackheads are a common skin problem to people of any age and of any skin type, but often appear during adolescent or teenage years. These are tiny bumps that are usually found on the face and nose, but can also appear on chest, arms, back, shoulders and other parts of the body.

Blackheads are small pimples that are open or without skin. They are also called open comedo. The black color of blackheads is known to be caused by the skins top layer getting exposed to air. Others blackheads can be yellowish in color.

This skin problem occurs when the opening of hair follicles in your skin develops a clog, due to dead skin cells, bacteria and oils that are collected on the opening of the pore. It is considered the first stage of acne, which can develop into a pimple.

The two common causes of blackheads are hormonal changes and too much use of wrong beauty products. During puberty, there is overstimulation of the sebaceous by certain hormones. This causes over production of oil called sebum.

You don’t need to spend much to treat your blackheads. Some simple ingredients already in your kitchen can be used for making facial masks and scrubs to treat this skin problem.

Oatmeal Facial

What you need:
  • 1 tablespoon of oatmeal (ground)
  • 3-5 teaspoons of water

Directions:
Mix the oatmeal and water well to make a thick paste. Apply the mixture on your face. Leave it on the skin for about 15 minutes. If it is completely dry, rinse off with water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Baking Soda Facial Scrub

Another ingredient in your kitchen that can help remove blackheads is baking soda. It is known for its ability to drive impurities off the skin, and cleanse pores.

What you need:
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons of water
  • ½ teaspoon of lemon juice

In a bowl, combine the ingredients thoroughly to make a paste. Suing your clean fingers, lather the paste onto your face. Gently scrub the mixture on the skin in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes. Use warm water to rinse your face, and wash with cold water to close the pores. Dry with a clean towel. Since the scrub can dry out your skin, it is recommended that you moisturize using a few drops of coconut oil.

Treat Foot Odor and Cracked Heels with White Vinegar

Posted by Unknown at 19:08 0 comments
Many people from around the world have smelly feet, cracked heels and athlete’s foot. If you’re one of them, you don’t need to worry spending much to cure these problems. You will be surprised that the thing you need is just in your kitchen.

In addition to being adding unique taste to dishes, white vinegar (also known as distilled vinegar) is popular for providing many benefits for hair, skin and overall health. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and reliable treatment for your foot problems, white vinegar is the answer.

Smelly Feet

When our feet sweat, it creates an environment for bacteria growth, which produces bad odor. Most people who experience this problem are those who wear shoes and socks for long hours. You can get rid of those stinky feet by soaking your feet in a vinegar solution.

Make sure that you wash your feet first with warm water and soap. Using the same amount of water and vinegar above, soak your feet once or twice a day for 15 minutes. The disinfecting properties of vinegar help get rid the bacteria on your feet.

Cracked Heels

Lack of moisture in our feet causes cracked heels. This problem may also be the result of lack of care for feet, prolonged standing on your feet, and ill-fitting shoes. During cold weather, dry, cracked heels commonly appear. The cracks are called fissure, which when become worst, will cause severe pain and bleeding. Instead of spending a lot of money on creams, why not relax your feet by soaking them in a vinegar solution?

Get a basin with warm water. The water should be enough to cover your ankles. Pour ¼ cup white vinegar. Soak your affected feet for 10-15 minutes. While doing this, you can scrub your feet gently to remove existing calluses. The dry skin will be softened by the mild acetic acid in vinegar. After 15 minutes, dry your feet thoroughly and moisturize. Put on your clean socks for about 2 hours. Do these steps 3 times a week.

Before spending your hard-earned money on fancy or commercial foot products to eliminate foot odor and cracked heels, make use of that white vinegar in your cabinet.
